Not Sure How You Could do Better...
There was a time I fancied myself an accomplished pencil artist... now I just hack around once in a while for my own enjoyment. If I was honest with myself, I'd buy the generic, inexpensive pencils available at Michael's or Walmart; considering the amount of use my drawing table gets and my ever-declining skill level, that's all I should need. I have a weakness, however, for premium quality tools and Staedtler pencils are the best, in my opinion. They're well-made and a joy to use.

A Terrific Set At A Great Price
This is a great set to sketch and illustrate drawings.The shading darkness has a great scale on these pencils.And even better the 2 bonus eraser and sharpener make drawing and sketching even better and easier because those are all the basic tools.This is truly a great set except the pencils have no erasers on the back of them.

I didn't know what the big deal was about the 'type' of pencil used for sketching, I've always used cheap HB's....now that I've bought these I get it; they are a pleasure to use every time, very smooth, not 'gritty' at all....enjoy having different degrees of pencil as well, fun to play with :)
