My granddaughter gave me a list of things she might like as an 18th birthday gift. One entry was gas money. I put some change in this cute bank (and a bunch of $1s). From now on gas money can be a savings goal for her!

Being a lover of classic cars I have amassed a small collection of vintage license plates, mostly from cars the 60+ cars I’ve owned, and some car related memorabilia found on various trips around the North American continent. I like old gas stations, but this is my first bit of trivia having to do with old gas pumps. I would love to have a real one in my living room, and may do that some day. This is obviously not an antique, but it’s not a small plastic toy either. It’s just about the perfect size to display and it is unbelievably accurate in detailing.QUALITYLike I said, this is not a toy. It’s made of an unidentified metal that has been hand painted and given a dull surface to look old. It feels substantial and is spot on realistic. The hose is made of a flexible material that seems accurate to a real pump but the nozzle is permanently fixed to the pump body. They cleverly incorporated a slot on the back large enough to accept all coins and even folded currency. I like how they hid that it is a bank, both for aesthetics and because I don’t want anyone messing with my hard earned cash. Maybe they hid it too well, though, no matter what I do I can't find a way to open it to get the money out.YES NO MAYBEThis is attractive without looking cheap and is priced fairly. I can’t find any flaws worth mentioning. I like it.

I love this piggy bank and how well it was made. Would make an amazing gift for anyone in your life. Looks great on my bookshelf.

This light house bank is just as pictured and described. There is a slot on the side to deposit coins and a rubber/plastic plug on the bottom to empty them out. The light house itself is over a foot, looks weathered, and is a nice looking piece of decor, but the cost seems on the on the high side for size/quality. It will make a nice gift for my sister in law who loves light houses.
